A HALIFAX SECRET (OVERHEARD)
----------------------------------------

One side of a conversation about a memory of a remembered event

A: OK, so you remember Mario? He was a honey. He had such dark brooding
eyes.
B:
A: Oh yes, him too, but back to Mario. He actually made it to Halifax.
B:
A: But, I shouldn't tell you.
B:
A: He said, when he arrived he was picked up by Konrad -the first one he
actually met, they drove through the fog to Konrad's old mansion. They
talked about the secret. Remember the whole thing?
B:
A: The next day he met with David, he's the one that invited the others to
take part. The first reunion happened later that night when the others
arrived: Terrel, Richrads, and Jerry was also there... They had promised to
keep a secret piece of art... I wonder if they realised at the time what a
legend they would be part of.
B:
A: Yes, they did recognise each other after 35 years. One's in New York,
one's in California (and lives close to Mario), one stayed in Halifax in
'those cold latitudes' as Mario put it. The weather turned for the worse, it
snowed the first day they walked up in the re-cognised school town. That
day, they recreated the group portrait in front of the place where the
secret was discussed. Being there was a real trigger.
B:
A: Maybe, yes. Remember seeing that little house?
B:
A: I think so. I think Richards wasn't part of that original photo.
B:
A: I think those photographs might not even have been from that specific
day! They said, they all remember being there but none will explicitly say
what happened. Are they continuing it?
B:
A: They openly remember parties and people, and the drugs from the day. It
sounded.
B:
A: I reckon they will meet again. They're part of such a legend.
B:
A: He wouldn't lie about it. Maybe there are images of it. It would be kind
of ironic though.
